12seconds To Online Video Fame

Well the Web site 12seconds.tv doesn't actually promise you fame but what it does very well is allow you to record short (12 second) videos and have them automatically posted to your Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Granted, 12 seconds is not a lot of time but that's part of the challenge and the fun.   I just recorded a 12seconds video using my Macbook Pro's built-in Webcam

Once you get yourself registered and setup at 12seconds.tv, the rest of the process is quite simple.

Start by connecting a videocamera or Webcam to your computer or you can use the webcam built into your laptop if you have that option.  A small Flash application will ask your permission to connect the site to your videocamera and now you're live and ready to record.  Hit record and go, you now have 12 seconds to post something useful and maybe witty.  If you don't get it the first time, don't worry.  There's a small link that says "cancel & re-record" - click on that and try again.  When you've finally captured your 12 second masterpiece, click the "post it" button and you're done.

If you are a proud owner of an Apple iPhone 3Gs, 12seconds just announced a few days ago a free application you can download to post videos you've shot with the iPhone to your Twitter account.  If you have an older iPhone they also have another "app" you can purchase at the iTunes store for 99 cents which allows you to send 3 still photographs you've taken with the camera and add to it a little narration
