Video That Business #6 – Healthcare Providers

Healthcare providers of all types are ideally situated to take advantage of the benefits of online video to market and promote themselves. First of all, they have knowledge that the rest of us want and often really need to know. More importantly, they are in the "caring for people" business which means they have terrific stories to tell that are often emotional, engaging and informative. As we know, stories are perhaps the best way to communicate information to a general audience.

I see more and more healthcare organizations including video content in their Web sites. Far fewer are taking the additional steps of packaging and distributing their content outside of their own URL which I think is a big mistake. By restricting your content to the boundaries of your own Web site you are only reaching those that already know something about you - at least they know enough to Google your name and find your Web site. What about the other 99.9999999% of the Internet audience that doesn't have any idea you exist?

I believe so strongly in the healthcare opportunity that I've based a large part of my business on working with doctors, clinics and others in the field because I really believe they have both so much to offer and to gain from online video marketing.

One of my core beliefs is that we've entered a new era in marketing that I like to call the "Knowledge Sharing Economy." Basically, the more quality information you put out there, the higher your professional profile and the better the potential for your bottom line earnings.

Who wouldn't want to be taken care of by a person clearly interested in communicating and sharing as well as treating?

Devices like the new iPad and the growing capability of living room TVs to access Internet-based high definition video content are going to have a huge and positive impact on healthcare marketing over the next 1-5 years, now's the time to get on board!
